This is an improved version of my previous design (www.thingiverse.com/thing:911708)
Additional features are:
Full access to the bed, even with the head in low position,
Easy assembly/disassembly,
Extended X-axis displacement.
Required power to maintain the bed at a temperature of 100°C:
(calculated from the duty cycle - tON/(tON+tOFF) - room temperature 22°C)
without enclosure: 72 W
with enclosure: 50 W (distance bed nozzle 50mm)
with enclosure: 48 W (distance bed nozzle 10mm)
Temperature measured 3cm above the bed on an object:
with enclosure: 79°C
without enclosure: 42°C
The enclosure consists of three parts:
2 side plates attached to the printer frame,
2 polyester sheets that cover the entire hot bed,
and shutters which follow the movement of the head along X and Z axis.
Polyesters sheets (upper covers and shutters) of the enclosure are fixed to a support consisting of aluminum angles and plastic parts (see files), itself fixed to the X axis rods.
Upper cover sheets can be lifted or easily detached to give full access to the bed
