I ordered some 8mm parts from Banggood to build a Z axis support for my MPSM, but I couldn't wait to give it a try, so I cobbled together this thing from printed parts, except for one piece, the vertical rod. I happened to see some fiberglass arrows in a store and thought they looked to be about 8mm. I was right. They're really close. I bought one for $2 and printed the rest. If you decide to go this route, make sure the arrow you select is 8mm or very close to it. You may have to adjust the size of the opening in the bearing. I cut the arrow shaft with a Dremel cutoff wheel.
For the bearing clamp I used kapakai's 6mm clamp. I needed to enlarge the opening which meant I had to widen the clamp itself.

For the bearing, I printed ispark's LM8UU because I liked the pattern of the contact blades. I stretched it to 41mm to match the clamp.

For the gantry support I chose SpareChange's part. I increased the opening for the rod to 8mm.

The other half of the side panel comes from FDM Guru. Unmodified.

This setup is working great. I'm not even going to use the rods from Banggood. I may use the bearing if it works with the arrow shaft.
