Holga 6X12 Super Wide
Inspired by some of the Holga mods I have seen I decided to modify my Holga 120 WPC Pinhole Camera into a 6X12 Super Wide. I used the Pinhole Holga as at the time it was easier and cheaper to get my hands on. I really liked the idea of a super wide lens so I went with the Schneider-Kreuznach Super-Angulon 65mm f/8.0 over the 90mm lenses I have seen others use. The lens is mounted to a M42 body cap (drill a hole), which screws into a M65 to M42 adapter, which screws into a M65 focusing helicoid. The focusing helicoid is glued into the 3D printed bellows which are glued to the body. The body does need to have the old bellows removed and the opening slightly enlarged (I used a Dremel). This means the lens is easily removable by unscrewing either the adaptor or the body cap. The film transport is super simple to replace. I created a top plate with a few cold shoes to allow for accessories to be mounted.
The whole build uses just 3 easy to print pieces and some relatively easy modifications. You can put this camera together extremely quickly. After my final assembly and calibration I took this camera out to take a few quick snapshots. I am super impressed with how easy to use it is and how impressive the results are (excuse my bad scanning). This design will likely need to be modified to work with other lenses.
1x Holga 120 WPC Pinhole Camera
1x M65 to M65 17mm-31mm Focusing Helicoid (eBay)
1x M42 Body Cap (eBay)
1x M65 to M42 1mm Thread Pitch Male to Female Step-Down Adapter (Amazon)
1x 28mm Optical View Finder (Aliexpress)
1x Schneider-Kreuznach Super-Angulon 65mm f/8.0
1x Ground glass for calibration
1x Glue or epoxy
A few side notes:
I used a crappy small viewfinder as I like how compact it is and I couldn't find a good viewfinder to modify given how wide camera field of view is.
I covered the Holga logos with a bit of matte black vinyl.
I use the 16 frame counter and use frames 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11.
