This is the High Line Park from Gansevoort Street to 12th Street at the Standard Hotel. Originally an elevated rail road track built in 1934, it fell into disuse in the 1980s and was converted into an elevated 'rails to trails' park thanks to advocacy from ALOT of local heros. Its transformed much of the Meat Packing District and Chelsea into a really dynamic neighborhood. This is the 'main entrance.' The architectural designer was Diller Scofidio Renfro, Landscape architect was Field Operations. And Structural Engineer by Buro Happold. Feel free to take components for other parts of the park. Theres a good mile left to build. Over a mile of the second portion opened and I'm so far away....
