The HE3D EI3 printer has a dual Z guiding but only a single Z drive on one side. Further more the clutch is mounted on the top side. Mountiing it on the top side creates a lot of axial force to the clutch but the clutch is not designed to cover this kind of forces. Consequently it deforms the clutch which can have a negative influence to the print. From an engineering point of view it would be better to have a drive at both ends and a bearing which covers the axial forces. In this case the lower bearing will cover the axial forces. This solution links the screws with a timing belt and is driven by one single stepper. It cannot get out of sync - normaly. My design requires to machine the ends of the spindles accordingly so that the gears can be moounted to it.
The retrofit set consists out of 3 different printed components + metal parts (bearing, lead screw, etc).
