These are holders for a hanging rod to attach to a steel shelving unit. Specifically I'm using on a Muscle Rack UR4824HPSVL5 which seems to be a rebrand of an identical unit from Edsal. It uses 3/4in doweling as a rod, since it's cheap and readily avalible at most hardware stores. I've included the FreeCAD file though so you can adjust it to fit whatever you need. It's a little oddly shaped so that I can actually fit in on my printer, the MP Mini. Because of the triangle shape i can just barely print two at a time on it. The picture shows using it to hold spools but i've got a pair holding a roll of butcher paper, another pair holding paper towels, and of course a number with spools. Because they fit both ways they're pretty handy.
The rails on these racks are not as consistent as i thought, but this size seems to work on most. Sometimes it's rather loose and other times quite a tight fit. You can actually mount these either way on the rail and they'll be pretty solid. I'm using about 50% infill ABS just to be sure though. The upper section is thin for two reasons - on a tight rail you can use them as arms to actually get the thing to clip on or release, and being thin allows the least amount of interference if you need to use shelving at the same time (which I havent actually tried yet on this revision.). The holes save filament and are sized to also fit a 3/4in dowel, so you can put smaller things closer to the rail to keep some stress off of it.
