This is a cheerful DIY balloon lamp. It was designed around the VÄTE lamp from Ikea, which was designed as a cheap desk lamp but looks remarkably like a hot air balloon when turned upside down.
Instructions:
Set up the lamp & install a LED lightbulb. The next step makes the lampshade rigid, making it harder to change the bulb afterwards.
Rip colored tissue paper into small squares. Water down white glue until it is thin enough to easily paint on with a brush. Use this to adhere the tissue paper to the lamp in your desired pattern. Other forms of decoration, such as paint or watercolor, should also work. Note that the wire in the shade may not be horizontal relative to the overall lampshade, so it is not a trustworthy guide for horizontal stripes.
Print the basket. Attach to the narrow part of the lamp with string or thin wire.
