NEW: I have added a pusher to put the balls at the bottom of the barrels.
I had a gas grenade that worked very badly for airsoft. I decided to recycle it in hand grenade. I retrieve the tube and piston system from my old grenade. I put the tube at the bottom of the front part and the piston in the back part. For the pin I took an alluminium part (see photo) I made a 4mm hole well placed to fill the gas. Then I re-drilled the barrel with the drill (6mm).
To recharge it is necessary to push the piston just enough so that the pin passes. Then the 6 cannons must be filled with balls (they must enter without forcing). Reaching 4 by canon is a good compromise to keep the range. Then pull the pin to release the piston. It works very well for me. Be careful when pulling the pin the piston part is violently avoiding to take it. May also add a torque joint to prevent the plunger from tapping too hard against the bottom.
ps: If the Screw thread passes poorly the first time to oil a little and to go slowly it will work better after.
