This is a reconstruction of the model 64HN5 engine, that had some differences with all the others. It included a Borg-Warner transmission/reducer. This engine was used only in 36 ft landing craft [LCP(L), LCP(R), LCV, LCVP]. It was installed in about 5,000 boats during 1942 to 1945.
This transmission was a bit unusual for the time and use - these boats were considered ultimately expendable. The transmission was fully synchronized (forward/reverse) and seawater cooled. It was also a bit lighter than all the conventional Twin Disc transmissions used in all the other models of the engine.
The clutch and controls were also different than in other models, and radio frequency filter and voltage regulator were mounted on the engine as standard (they were used in other models of the engine but not in all the examples).
The 3D model contains 5,000+ parts with six levels of assembly.
