An engineer’s desk shouldn’t just be adorned with beautiful, aesthetic objects. Instead they should be practical and interactive, they should provide utility and something to mess around with during periods of stress and boredom (such as while waiting for a 16K render on Photoview :) ).

I designed this trophy with those concepts in mind, the base of the trophy features a nut sizing chart in both Imperial and Metric (up to M12 in metric) this allows quick identification of fastener sizes. With a slight size modification, nuts could be pressed in allowing easy identification of thread sizes and types. This feature would even allow metric and imperial bolts to be easily differentiated.

Engineers hate waste, GrabCAD is seeing amazing growth with 4 million members currently and with the support of the community we will soon be at 5,6 or even 7 million! The gears at the top of the trophy freely rotate and are great to play with, but they also future proof the trophy. 5 million can be celebrated with the simple reprinting of one small component.

The 7 gears at the top of the trophy, freely rotate and symbolize not only the 7 digits and 6 zeros that go into making 4 million, but also all the different groups and people on GrabCAD who work together to turn the gears and to improve GrabCAD in their individual way.

Together we can reach 5 million and beyond!
