***PURPOSELY DID NOT BUILD THE WALLS ALL THE WAY UP, PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION***

ok...to answer this challenge...i took a different approach....i came up with the 'how to build' concept...and NOW I CHALLENGE THE GRABCAD TEAM to build this Lego Block Style office using their imagination.
This is a relatively low cost construction method. The sizes are based upon standard USA Sizes.
1) The floor is in 4 sections. each section is framed by 2x2 lumber, then covered with plywood. then, wood cylinders (sections of handrailings 1.75" in diameter) are cut to lengths of 1.5" and screwed to the plywood...2" from the edge of the plywood to the center of the cylinder, then 4" center to center. build 4 of these sections and then bolt them together, forming an (approx.) 8'x10' rectangle.
2) the Lego Blocks. The blocks are based upon the size of a concrete block (8"x8"x16") these blocks are made from 2lb. density EPS foam blocks. the blocks are then drilled (or molded in, if you order them that way) with 8 holes on opposing sides. the holes are spaced the same as the floor (2" edge to center, then 4" center to center) these holes are bored to 1.5" deep). use more wood cylinders (3" long) to press into the foam blocks, on one side only. Additional size foam blocks can be made from cutting down the size of the 8x8x16 foam blocks.
3)the floor surface..made from 1/2" wood on edge, forming a 8x16 rectangle. attach 3/8 acrylic to the edge of the wood. this can be laid throughout the center of the main wood floor to give a smooth surface to walk on.
4)bookshelves..for the bookshelves, turn a couple of the 16" lego blocks so they stick out from the wall. cut a piece of 3/4" plywood to span the distance..you can drill the end of the shelve to match the wood cylinders that protrude from the foam blocks.
5) windows....to make a window....leave out some of the blocks...typically only 1 block wide.

from that, use your imagination...can be used also as a team building event, and once a month, or so, rearrange the blocks....

everyone loves playing with legos
