The race is one where many reserve drivers are given a try out: Marc Gene replaces de la Rosa, Jiang Tengyi and Julien Jousse race for KTE in place of there main drivers, Adrian Valles races for WRI as part of a long standing deal, Ralf Schumacher drives for ABGP instead of Rossi, Fabio Leimer races in place of Monteiro. Matthew Wood claims pole.-- Mike Rockenfeller keeps his slim title hopes alive by winning the Dubai GP from Newportman No 2 Jens Kohl. Matthew Wood was taken out at the first corner by Julien Jousse. Jens Kohl did well to hold off the charging Sato to boost Newportman's title aspirations. Parente boosted his title hopes by finishing 4th, ahead of the ever improving Justin Wilson and Anthony Davidson. Romain Grosjean returned to the points for Ferrari in 7th, ahead of Débutante Fabio Leimer. Giorgio Pantano got his first points in 9th for Aston Martin while Debutante Ralf Schumacher claimed the final point for ABGP. Bondovic Racing had a disastrous weekend, both drivers having tyre trouble in the race. Despite this, Fischella sets fastest lap. Matthew Wood leaves the UAE with a slimmer series lead.
