For the 2011 GPworld series season, a new car is released to the teams. The Dallara designed GPWS02 is a significant step up from its predecessor, with a whole new look and improved safety. The chassis mostly stays the same, with the new additions to the car being raised cockpit sides, different 'basic' front and rear wings and a spec Toyota engine for teams to run if they cant get an engine deal. The teams could choose to stay with their GPWS01 based machines for 2011, before a mandatory move to the GPWS02 based machines for 2012. As usual, the car can be freely developed. 2011 also sees major changes to the calendar. There are new races in Argentina, Mexico, South Africa, Malaysia and USA, while races in Turkey, Abu Dhabi, Singapore and Melbourne were all taken off the calendar. The South African Grand Prix was brought in after a successful trial run with the GP2000 support championship, while Long Beach in the USA holds another race in the region. The race in Malaysia would be the GP of Asia. The Abu Dhabi GP and Dubai GP are merged to become the UAE GP, with the event rotating between tracks every year. Other changes see the World GP moving from Monza to Belgium, Monza taking the Mediterranean GP title. The Monaco event would be separate from the F1 GP and be held many months later.
