In need of a better way to attach my GPS to the steering bar of my Yamaha X-MAX, I used my pipe brackets http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1859966, skewed the base plate, added a block as pipe collar and changed defaults. I now enjoy a centered navigation device display, where it was mounted to the left mirror before, close to the left handle. Peripheral vision is now sufficient to catch a glimpse of the map, a big improvement over earlier state.
Technically this would be a remix, but not published a such as this thing is made for an entirely different purpose.
Parametrisation hasn't been tested thoroughly. But within reasonable margins of parameters, I expect the resulting thing to make some sense. Base angle shouldn't be set too tilted, because the bores for the screws will be accordingly arched.
Printed as two parts (each side) as this supports rotating the parts according expected vector of forces, and for easier printing. Block tabs are kept same height as collars - and consequently the used screws - for strengthening the weakest dimension.
Soon I may be able to update the photos, showing the items with a much thinner carbon fiber rod, instead of the currently used steel rod. It will also carry centered attachments for a hanging mount point, above the GPS pouch, thereby moving the whole pouch downwards. This helps to reduce obstruction of viewing instruments.
