The Glock 17 was the first pistol designed by the Austrian company Glock. It is a locked breech, short recoil 9mm parabellum semi-automatic pistol with a standard magazine capacity of 17 rounds. The designation '17' is derived from the gun being glock's seventeenth patent rather that it's magazine capacity. The glock 17A this model] is a varient produced for the Australian market, to comform to local laws. The only differences are that the 17A has a barrel length of 4.6 inches, so that it protrudes from the frame.
