Hi,
in the GEEETech Acrylic Prusa I3 pro series the X version is the entry level one, with acrylic idler where the B and C version now have the metal ones… but before they had printed ones!
Unfortunately the X version have 27mm distance between bars where B and C have 22mm, so owner of X cannot buy the Metal upgrade kit!
With my X-2-B/C kit now owner of i3 can print brand new idler, carriage and extruder holder to quite transform their i3X in a i3B, the mono extruder version, or i3C, the dual extruder version.
The two idler, also if they look like the old printed ones of i3B/C, have now 27mm clearance between bars, the end stop support and x motor center aligned with i3X ones!
In addition to the new idler I’ve also refurbished carriage and extruder holder in order to integrate some good idea GEEETech have introduced in metal component:
1.New X-Belt fixing, really more easy to use compared to old one
2.X-End Stop regulation
3.Holes to unmounts motors for dual version
4.Nut space on extruder holder where screw add-on
The original i3X X-Motor idler have the motor inverted compared to i3B/C, and this part share the motor in the i3B/C position, so you have to reversein the firmware the sense of rotation, is easy, just find the row “#define INVERT_X_DIR” and put true if you find false or vice versa, nothing other!
PS: Unfortunately I wasn’t able to reuse the linear bearing that i3X have in idler and carriage and must be replaced with the LM8LUU linear bearing that was originally designed for i3B/C component.
IF YOU “FALL IN LOVE” OF THIS DESIGN, PLEASE, REMEMBER THAT IT TAKE TIME TO BE CREATED, DESIGNED AND SHARED… SO “MAYBE” YOU CAN USE THE “TIP DESIGNED” BUTTON ON MY PROFILE!
