In order to tell what is planted where, I've always just used popsicle sticks and a Sharpie to label my garden's rows. Now that I have a 3D printer, I wanted something more unique. I designed these to look like little distressed wooden planks. Each stake features not only the plant's name, but also a cute little picture of it's future offspring. After having several bad years (gardenwise), this is all that we have decided to plant this year, but I will add more tags as I get time. If you would like to make your own, I have included the blank stake for you to use in your own creations.
.... If there is a certain plant you would like labeled, let me know and I'll see what I can do .... my only request is that you post a [Make] once you've printed them so that others can find these tags.
For best results swap filament at the following layers assuming a 0.3mm layer height:
layer 0 = brown | black
layer 15 = brown; if layer 0 = black
layer 17 = white
layer 22 = black
I have added a bash script (for use under linux) that you can use to quickly modify the gcode for filament swaps. This script assumes a 0.3mm layer height and that the gcode file is saved in the current directory as "tags.gcode". Make it executable (chmod +x modify_tags.sh) and, once run, it will add the pause commands at the proper layer locations. I haven't worked with windoze in years, so you're on your own on that front.
These will need to be printed on their backs with supports enabled to support the pictures.
