Usually referred to as a tank destroyer, the Lancer I Tank became the MBT of the British forces in 2047, despite being designated as such by the US. After the NA War proved the American M2A1/4 Macarthur was undeniably the best tank in the world, the British quickly began designing a tank that could fight it. Germany’s best tank, the C3A4 Defiant, even with Canadian AT missile pods, 5 extra inches of armour and a 30mm heavier turret were not able to beat the “Macky”. With lessons learned during the NA War, the British made the Lancer a tank that could beat the MacArthur’s thick armour and at a long enough range that the MacArthur could not return fire. Unfortunately, the Lancer does not have the MacArthur’s armour nor the Deviant’s speed. The UK lost many tank crews to PLA and PRK portable AT units in cities. Often, the British were relegated as secondary units while American, Canadian and EU forces cleared cities because of this. Luckily, it’s small frame made up for some problems and its huge 155mm rifled canon was unmatched. It mastered tank warfare and could easily fill the role of field artillery.
