Presenting the Cubinator, a fully integrated office desk solution for one person. The Cubinator is the fusion between architectural design, office furniture design and electronics. This desk offers the perfect home for the any NEC monitor 30” or less.

The fully integrated support arm connects to the monitor and allows it to free hang and become one with the desk. The arm allows for easy adjust-ability of the height and position of the monitor for different sized users.

The Cubinator is built on a sturdy frame consisting of two CNC machined C-legs of 1.5” thick 6061 aluminum, adorned with eye catching hex patterns. The legs hold up a full titanium frame that makes up the backbone of the work surface.

On top of the titanium frame sits a 1” thick slab of crystal clear, pre cut glass. The glass offers an impeccably straight work surface on which to work and can be customized with banner logos placed underneath, to add that truly personalized touch. In addition to its full 1500 square inch working surface, the Cubinator offers plenty of storage surfaces for books, containers and other office accessories. The main shelving unit consists of 1.4” thick, Cherry wood shelving arranged in a unique and cube like style. To complete the upper shelves, two glass doors close off the bookshelf area, making for a clean, modern look. In addition to the right side cube styled shelves, there is also a large shelving surface above the monitor which is meant specifically for 3D printers and other large office accessories. This shelve was designed to fit one small printer and one small 3D printer such as the Makerbot replicator.

When working at night, lighting is always an issue and unfortunately, desk lighting can often take up valuable work space real-estate. The Cubinator offers fully integrated lighting solution with an integrated switch hidden under the aluminum facing panel. The lighting system consists of 4 LED lighting strips hidden conveniently behind features on the desk. The lighting is indirect and none intrusive, it casts itself on the contours of the desk, providing ample, soft ambient light for working at night or in low light.

The aluminum front panel provides standard and Type B USB integration. Simply place your USB key into the front panel slots and you’re instantly connected to your network.

As if all that wasn't enough, the Cubinator offers an integrated swivel tray for placement of your desktop tower, elevating it off the floor for easier vacuuming and further integration of your technology into the desk.

Notes:

This idea was actually based off a computer desk I built years ago. I've included picture. Everthing is accurate to real desk except I've swapped wood leg supports for CNC legs and supports and the real desk doesn't have the front panel or PC tray.

Special thanks to the GrabCad community for providing all the high quality models I used in some of my renders. It’s a really good example of what sharing good cad files can accomplish.

My Designs specifically are:
Cubinator desk concept and related
The office plant
Recycle bin
Sleigh desk ornament
Architectural staging
The pen assembly display(using GC pens, markers and pencil models).

Everything else is not mine originally but I’ve modified some files and added detailing.
Most models had colored modified but I’ve added significant detailing to the NEC monitor,
