I didn't really like the way the FT P-51 Mustang landing gear is put on because I don't think it will hold up in a hard landing, so I fired up the 3D printer and printed out an alternative. The design of this main gear might also work on some of the Master Series Flitetest planes.
There are 2 parts to this installation, and must be done during the building of the wing. The first part hot glues inside the wing up against the spar and protrudes through the bottom of the wing. BE SURE TO place the hole nearest to the spar. I also added a small piece of foam board, (you can see in the pics) on top of part 1 that glues to the inside of the top wing when it is folded. The wire gear fits into the protrusion with a short bend in the wire that fits in the hole to keep it straight, then a bend in the gear to the angle you want. The part 2 plate screws on with M3x12mm screws to secure the gear in place, no nuts are needed the screws screw right into part 1.
The parts are sized for a 2.5mm wire, but I can resize them to fit larger or smaller wires if needed.
