FORTUNE TELLERS TEAROOM

LEGACY PAGE : I HAVE WITHDRAWN THE PARAMETRIC MODELS BUT HAVE LEFT THE PAGE TO RETAIN DOWNLOAD & "LIKE" DATA

The Fortune Tellers Tearoom assembly combines a collection of some of my Solidwork’s models. Initially I was creating models of various games (ie LUDO, Scrabble, Boggle, Cribbage, Dominoes, Triominoes, various sized Dice (Std 1-6 , Poker, Crown & Anchor) which also included a fully configurable set of playing cards with packaging box. These were based on the Bicycle brand (Registered) Rider back cards. I then progressed into creating a set of configurable Tarot cards incorporating .png image files as decals for each card.
Once I had my configurable set of 78 TAROT CARD DECK in the standard 2 ¾ “ x 4 ¾ “card size, it was followed with displaying cards in a standard Tarot Celtic Cross layout. The cards utilized as were per a configuration of an online image. I must admit I do not know or use Tarot cards but have produced this set as just another project. Each card (as per the playing cards) can be configured to any one of the 78 layouts. The purpose in both decks is for producing models for renderings that could be used to convey different card layouts that are easily reconfigured without having to swap out individual card files.
TAROT CARD DECORATIVE STORAGE CASE was produced with a design incorporating some esoteric symbolism. I designed it based on an opium table for the bottom with a Chinese style tile roof for the top. The top when removed has locator fins which act as feet for sitting upright when positioned separate from base. This also creates a side opening enabling the person to easily grasp all the cards to remove from the case while it is sitting on the table. I utilized various dwg files freely downloaded from https://www.craftsmanspace.com/free-patterns for the symbols (Dragons, Egyptian eye of Horus and then mirrored for eye of Ra) and then imported into Solidworks. The sky background on the fin was of my own design.
In presenting the models in a rendered image, this fostered into producing further models ;
150mm CRYSTAL BALL with Claw foot style stand in mahogany wood. The stand is my vision based on Ball & claw style feet but upturned with minimizing contact points. It seemed to be a standard fortune teller item but could not find a suitable example on Grabcad.
42” MARBLE TOP ROUND TABLE in design of 1930’s style teakwood based tables as used in Singapore coffee shops at the time. The chairs shown are from Stefan-Karol on Grabcad (https://grabcad.com/library/thonet-nr-18-cafechair ) which were a style used extensively in bistros and cafes in the first half of the 20th century from Europe to Asia.
TABLE CLOTH for the table with ethnic style print. Print is Label type Decal as obtained as an image from the web as a sample and place on a combined revolved & lofted model.
NEON SIGN for the fortune teller inclusive of window to be hung in. Basic neon design as per image viewed online but have incorporated the OPEN signage. Utlised tubing swept profiles incorporating Neon appearances and blacking out faces that required not to be visible. Tried to incorporate some cross lingual irony ( Aux Faux Le Psychic ~ Awfully Psychic ; (French - Aux= To the ; Faux = False )
GYPSY GIRL PICTURE was produced utilizing an image from the web that would convey the atmosphere. The frame is made from a weldment library that I produced incorporating a collection of picture frame profiles ( https://www.craftsmanspace.com/free-patterns/picture-moldings.html ). This was then accented by applying selective face appearances.
WOOD MOULDINGS for floor bases & door frames were used to create model that would convey the fortune tellers space. These were made from a weldment library that I produced incorporating an extensive collection of wood moulding profiles(360 profiles) as per Kuiken Brothers (NJ, USA) online catalogue. I use the library to easily create wood trim for room layouts for casings, door frames, bases, stairways and then be able to calculate linear requirements of each in a BOM as per Solidworks functionality.
