90 MM M1A1 AMTB (the gun is not finished and will be replaced when completed) The Anti-Motor-Torpedo-Boat (AMTB) 90mm gun M1 on mount M3 was developed in 1941 to provide a weapon that was effective against fast torpedo boats, aircraft, and land targets. It could be controlled manually or automatically through a remote control system. A protective shield was installed around the gun and allowed crew access and gun loading through the rear. Two batteries of four weapons each were installed at Fort Miles on the Delaware side (Battery 5A & Battery 5B), and one battery of four weapons was installed in Cape May, New Jersey (Battery 7). Fort Miles was added to the National Register of Historic Places in April 2005. #Coast_Artillery, #Military, #Army, #Artillery, #Battery, #Casemate , #Bunker, #Gun, #3_inch, #3_inch_gun, #90MM, #90MM_Gun, #Cantonment, #WW2, #WWII, #Fort, #Fort_Miles, #FMHA, #HDD, #Barbette_Carriage, #Fire_Control,
