The X carriage mount decouples the Z lift lead screw in the X-Y plane. The bottom plate that the lead-screw nut mounts to can move around under the smooth rod bearings. The fork in the bottom plate goes on the smooth rod to prevent rotation of the bottom plate, so there may be some minor coupling there. I mount the smooth rod followers to the bottom two slots of the X-carriage SIMO. The Z-endstop adjuster screw matches up with the original Aluminatus Z-endstop position. I've printed the parts in ABS without support material. They seem to work Ok, even if they're not very pretty.
This is just an update. I've stiffened the rim of the bearing holder and adjusted the location of the lead screw hole.
