Flag of Mexico

The flag of Mexico was first introduced in 1821 as a simple green tricolor (side of the rod), white and red. In 1823 the Mexican coat of arms was added to the center of the white stripe, which represents the foundation, in 1325, of the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan (on the land currently occupied by the modern capital of the nation, Mexico City). The emblem has been modified several times, and consequently the flag has also been modified, no longer changed since 1968 with the current emblem. The colors represent independence, religion and the union between the Mexican states, according to the Bandera Trigarante de Mexico that would have inspired the current Mexican flag, however other interpretations have followed, the best known is the one leaked by the secularization of the country operated by Benito Juárez, according to which the green represents hope, the white the unity and the red the blood of the heroes of the homeland. #flag #Mexico
