Fidget Spinner With Moveable Balls

A "MEGA TREND" of the year 2017.

I can't let it be, to design new "FIDGET SPINNERS" - one after the other.
I like very much these simple toys, which can make so much fun.

My model contents 7 balls (diameter = 12 mm) of a ball bearing.

The balls are guided in sliding block guides, to allow a movement by the centrifugal force.

Notes for all technically interested persons:

The minimum rotational speed - in case if you hold the rotation axis of the fidget spinner horizontal resp. parallel to the ground - is theoretical approx. 184 [1/min], so that the balls can move in radial direction - against the gravitational force - to the outer limit of the sliding block guides.
The nominal distance, the balls can move, is 6 mm.

The calculation of the mass of balls is based on a density of 7,85 [g/cm^3].

This FIDGET SPINNER can show in a simple way the influence of CENTRIFUGAL FORCE.

Animation and renderings are done in »KeyShot 4«

Parameters of animation:
Frames per second: 50 fps
Period/ cycle of animation: 3 seconds
Total frames per period/ cycle: 150 frames
Rotational speed: 180 per minute abaut the x-axis and 20 per minute about the y-axis.

The model is available in following data formats:
STEP-file (.stp) of the complete assembly,
and native files (.prt) and (.asm), in a "zipped" folder",
for all users of »PTC Creo Parametric 2.0«
