I wrote a script that adds round or rectangular holes to the top of the lid for a hygrometer… so much easier than the first 3 I cut manually. I rendered all the options for you so you can just download what you want
I also added an option for a PTFE port in the lid for feeding off the top of the spool. This may help people with different feed orientations. In the accessory library linked above are plugs for the PTFE fitting you don't use. There is no a plug in the library to plug the top or bottom port if unused.
There is one base option listed here. The base I am posting here has clamp ridges to hold the box in place. If you are going to print the Top feed option I highly recommend you print the bases with the clamp ridges so you have the option to prevent the entire box from getting pulled into your printer should you get a jam. The bottom feed won’t drag the box off the railed shelf and on a table is likely to just drag it forward. The top of spool feed could pull the box forward in a jam.
The script to generate the lids is included should you want to have at it. This script also renders the platforms I designed to lock the FiBos into place. The platform library link is included above. The SCAD script in that library is the same one as here.
Make sure you purchase the MINI Hygrometers... not the larger "regular" ones. You will notice the text is more compact on the mini's than the larger.
I put up some hygrometer test frames and the code to generate them. I print the rectangular hole really small... based on actual measurements to get a good seal. The test frame will print at 45.5mm x 26.5mm. The rectangular Hygrometer advertise as "Mini Hygrometer Thermometer" and usually show dimensions of 1.89" / 48mm wide by 1.13" / 28mm tall. Those are actually the frame dimensions, not the body dimensions.
There is a round Hygrometer Test Frame.
Thanks Piddey for testing that with a round Hygrometer and sharing your photo I included. They advertise as "Mini Hygrometer Thermometer Round Digital Humidity Gauge" with a frame diameter of 1.77inch / 4.5cm and a depth of .6in. / 1.5cm
The hygrometers might seam to be a tight fit. The only issue I had was some of my hygrometers had small pieces of plastic from the molding process stuck to the clips that had to be removed.
Glue On Ridges for the clamp option
For anyone doing base mods that want to have clips I am adding some samples you can print. I have also successfully super glued ridges on boxes I created before adding the lock down system. I recently had a tangle in a box without the clamp option and the printer pulled it right off the tubing shelf... using the bottom feed. Luckly the printer seams undamaged by the 2kg. I eventually plan on feeding into an enclosure.
