As a child, when I used to ride in the car with my father, and I saw a Fiat 124 passing by, I thought it was beautiful, clean, precise, modern, and well-balanced. I never told my father because he considered it a boxy car. He preferred those strange French automobiles.

As far as I know, however, this car is the result of extraordinary work by the design and development department led by Dante Giacosa, which revolutionized the Italian automobile market in the 1960s and 1970s. This car has been produced under license by various companies over time and has been sold in millions worldwide.

When I was a boy, I managed to drive it—it belonged to Costantino, my best friend's father. Costantino loved that car so much that he owned at least four or five of them in succession. He used it like an SUV, taking it everywhere, even for fishing trips, tackling impossible roads.

I wanted to create a modern reinterpretation of it, hypothetically with electric traction, and give it the name of the place where it had been parked for so long.
