This is yet another temperature tower but one that prints fast. It takes around 10 minutes to print the full tower (without support).
This work is based on Tacblades' awesome tower (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2583799).
I made a customizable version that allows anyone to include information about the filament that he/she is using. The left would be the flavor of the filament (PLA, ABS, PETg) and the top number on the right is the initial (bottom) temperature while the bottom one is the final temperature which is usually at the top. The larger number on the far right is the step size (e.g. change temperature every 2 degrees).
One improvement is that in the original file, there are 8 steps but only 7 holes, so you miss one section. Moreover, because the way that the PID works, 3D printers struggle to stabilize within a few small layers, so this version prints at one temperature till the top of the hole and then lowers the temperature.
Each block height is 10mm and out of that 10mm, 8mm are full semi-circular layers and 2mm are the height of the hole. Layer bonding is important as it ensures that the part is specially strong and helps to avoids blobs on your nozzle. This file works for 0.4mm nozzle and if when slicing, the walls are invisible, please make sure that the slicer is able to detect thin walls.
I have also uploaded a python script to help change the temperature. I got the script from thingiverse but I cannot remember from which thing. Please send me a message if you are the author. It is fairly simple and the syntax is "python gcode_temp_changer.py fast_temp_zaf.stl". The script will prompt to include the temperatures. I believe that this is better than messing with the slicer because the settings do not have to be reverted back to slice other files.
Enjoy!
