Fanatec CSL Elite Quick Release band.
Inspired(remixed) from thing:3553213 : I thickened the band up slightly, added reinforcement around the locating peg hole, and increased strength around the flanges.
Then printed a few copies and did destruction testing on them.
Using ABS-Pro, it was near impossible to have them fail. Way more than enough strength.
PLA was adequate, but could fail at the flange/band area or split at the locating peg hole. I didnt want to risk my £180 wheel from damage, so moved up to ABS and ABS pro.
Fitting:
Remove old metal band (with the not at all quick release bolt) by carefully wiggling and prising over the locating peg.
Print this band in ABS, PLA+ or ABS-pro for good strength.
Use a cheaply available bicycle seatpost quick release lever/bolt.
Fit in place carefully.
Ensure it is adjusted so that it clamps securely. No need to go crazy Hulk on it, but it needs to clamp tight so there is no movement in the wheel hub on the base shaft.
A light/moderate force to push the lever fully closed is all that's needed.
[be aware if it is too loose - the plastic hub will flex, which can stress the brass pins, or crack the plastic hub.)
From time to time check the adjustment, but generally it will not need tightening much further than initial setting.
Used at own risk.
