Just got this #135 Sun Telephoto 135mm f3.8 a nice 1950s lens with exakta mount. Paid all $4.99 in thrift store for it together with IHAGEE macro tubes so I was anxious to try it. It seems the Pentax Q would be the best candidate.
The flange focus distance of those Exakta lenses is 44.7mm but Pentax Q Flange distance is about 10mm so my lens needs a tube about 35mm from the Q in order to focus. Now I could print a 35mm tube with Q bayonet and model exakta mount on the other end , but because those lenses are heavy, this would likely result in mechanical failure in the EXA complicated bayonet. A better way is to reuse one of those IHAGEE macro tubes - these macro tubes are plentiful and cheap because it is very little you can do with them now - but they are multi sectional with M40x0.75 thread between sections so it is easy to get the correct size.
So I decided to do a smaller adapter with Q bayonet on one side and internal M40x0.75 on the other side to accommodate the few sections of IHAGEE tubes that have exakta mount at the end.
I am very pleased with the result!
