Name: Suckow's Horsetail Tree Scientific: Calamites suckowii About this Package: This package contains an extended and extensive series of staged models representing the entire lifecycle of a single plant. It includes staged models for maturity and health. There are a total of 24 models. This same species can also be founded in 12 seperate variations containing a subset of these staging models (and may also contain some additional model variations); look for them in the EVERYPlant store. The exact plant variation in this extended package is unique and cannot be found in any of the other package. Habitat: Extinct tree-sized plant from the Carboniferous to the early Permian Period (about 360 to 250 million years ago). It appears to have preferred sandy riverbanks and floodplains. It appeared mainly as part of the sub-story of prehistoric forests. Range: Fossils have been found virtually the world over suggesting the plant had a global range. Notes: An extinct, tree-sized plants that lived during the Carboniferous and early Permian periods (about 360 to 250 million years ago) to which the modern horsetails (genus Equisetum) are closely related. Unlike their herbaceous modern counterparts, these plants were medium-sized trees which grew to heights of more than 10 meters. Although it's stem was woody, it was nonetheless a delicate plant that grew in the sub-story of prehistoric forests. Several sub-genera of Calamites existed, this species fell into the category Stylocalamites and were distinct from other Calamites in that their terrestrial parts rarely branched and had only limited foliage. It featured a prominent strobilus missing in other sub-genera of Calamites, but is a feature found in modern horsetails. These plants grew from an underground connected network of rhizomes as well as from seeds. Included in this Package: 24 models in total Maturity: Seedling -- 18,970 polygons -- 47.03cm tall. Smaller plant some half way through it's maturing cycle. Growing -- 78,024 polygon -- 4.25m tall. Plant is now in its mature aspect and growing. Young Mature -- 118,409 polygons -- 5.45m tall. Fully matured but not at its full height yet. Growing Mature -- 146,400 polygons -- 6.62m tall. Plant is in its final form, but still growing. Mature 164,593 polygons -- 7.68m tall. Fully mature and grown. Old -- 180,151 polygons -- 8.56m tall. Larger, growing more twisted. Ancient -- 192,150 polygons -- 9.18m tall. A very old plant, larger than normal, considerably gnarled, and with heavier, drooping branches. Health: Flourishing -- 166,191 polygons -- 7.68m tall. Plant is in 100% health with no damage or disease. Thriving -- 166,105 polygons -- 7.68m tall. Plant is great health with very little damage or disease. Healthy -- 164,593 polygons -- 7.68m tall. In a normal stage of health with some minor damage or disease. Robust -- 159,978 polygons -- 7.68m tall. Plant is showing some damage and disease, but is still doing well. Distressed -- 133,949 polygons -- 7.68m tall. Showing an increased level of foliage damage and disease, as well as missing and broken branches. Declining -- 112,399 polygons -- 7.62m tall. Further decline in health resulting in more disease, damage and broken branches. Unhealthy -- 103,530 polygons -- 7.26m tall. In a relatively poor state with much of its foliage missing or diseased. Withering -- 102,150 polygons -- 7.24m tall. In steep decline, reaching the point of no return. Dying -- 85,704 polygons -- 7.24m tall. Tree is just hanging onto life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage. Morbid -- 77,296 polygons -- 5.08m tall. Past the point of no return, now in decline and decay. Re-meshing available upon request, eg adaptive mesh for lower poly count (this is the default setting and is as supplied), uniform mesh for easier editing, strict quads, tris, mixed, poly increase or decrease, etc. No charge to existing customers of the product. The textures included in this pack are mainly 4k (4096x4096) to cater for detailed renders, this is the default map size and is included in each of the file format download files, no need for seperate downloads. However these may be slow to load or render on some system and may not be necessary in all situations. To allow for this, medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures are also available and may be downloaded alongside the various model formats. Different texture sizes can simply be swapped in or out by copying the Maps sub-folder; no need to manipulate the materials in your editor. Please use whichever best suites your system and needs.
