Battery tie down and tray for mounting a battery in a car. The tie down includes M6 nut pockets to mount a marine style breaker in the positive battery cable as close to the battery as possible. I used a Blue Sea Systems 285 series, but all of the surface mount type breakers of that style will probably fit.
I used these parts to relocate the battery on my RX8 track car to improve weight distribution and clear out the engine bay to improve air flow through the radiator, but they would work great in many applications.
I use M6 threaded rod and rivnuts with backup washers in the trunk floor, and M6 thumb nuts from Amazon. You could use weld nuts, double nut your threaded rod under the car and to the top of the tray, or use stock battery J-hooks run through the floor of the car. Rivnuts are easy and clean, but require special tools.
I have included model files if you want to modify this. Let me know what you make if you do modify my work.
USE A SEALED BATTERY IF YOU MOUNT THIS INSIDE YOUR CAR. LEAD ACID BATTERIES EMIT HYDROGEN DURING USE. COVER YOUR POSITIVE TERMINALS AND CABLE ENDS. SETTING YOUR CAR ON FIRE SUCKS. BE CAREFUL. I HAVE DONE NO TESTING OR ANALYSIS TO PROVE THAT THIS IS SAFE IN A CRASH. USE AT YOU OWN RISK. ACTUALLY DON'T USE THIS. IT WILL DEFINITELY KILL YOU.
