13 elements yagi antenna and azimuth & elevation rotator. Material used:
1.65m Antenna/camping balkon tripod from eBay
2000 x 15 x 15 allu rectangle tube for antenna beam
two 2000 x 20 x 20 allu rectangle tube for rotator frame and azimuth axis
?x 8mm allu tubes for yagi elements
1x 12mm allu tube for yagi radiator
plenty of M4 screws with nuts and washers
4mm plywood for rotator sides
2x TB6600 stepper drivers
2x NEMA24 stepper motors
2 endstops from eBay
Wemos Lolin32 as rotator controller
PLA filanment (ABS was bending too much for big parts)
See my github repository for ESP32 bluetooth rotator controlling SW.
I thing the building process is pretty clear.
Print the corners of the cube
cut the 20mm tube to 12 20cm long pieces
connect pieces to the frame
add 4 plywood walls so they fit
drill holes for axis slightly smaller then the bearing is
attach gears
add gear to the stepper shaft (I've just pressed it on. It's holding so far)
measure where to put steppers so the gear on the stepper fits
drill holes for steppers and screw them to the place
add azimuth and elevation axis and glue them to the place
endstops are on the holders (But are actually the only piece breaking when the gear overruns. The SW is still not using them.)
The only trick is the gear wheel assembly. I've split it into three parts to shorten printing time, risk and bending. And glued them together. See photos or contact me and I'll extend the description.
