16 March Update:
I have decided to remove the dual belt clips as I am not going to re-design them.
9 March 2021 Update.
I no longer recommend using the V-wheel carriage on the X axis. The belt path is not flat, and the printed dual belt clips I have here will fail after about 175 - 200 hours of use. I will tinker with the design a little, but what I recommend is to use a linear rail for the X axis.
This will also help you avoid extra maintenance on the X carriage V-wheels.
Original:
This mod is based on the Voron Switchwire, a DIY Core XZ printer (shared belts on the X and Z axis) that can be found at http://vorondesign.com/
Voron's are the most thoughtfully designed printers I have ever seen. They are functionally solid, reliable, and designed with thought given to cable management and easy maintenance.
The Switchwire was originally designed by russiancatfood, and the Ender 3 mod I have based this on was designed by Utrawaffles. Both of their designs use linear rails, but I wanted to try something that retained the Ender's original V-wheels. I wanted to keep the v-wheels, not because I think that they are superior - they are not, but a decent set of rails costs $100 US, putting the cost of a Switchwire conversion at about $250+. I wanted to try to create a low cost point of entry to a better running Ender conversion. I was able to convert my Ender to Core XZ for about a total of $120.
For Voron enthusiasts, please note, this mod is not eligible for a serial number.
