Having upgraded to an Ender 5 Plus, I found myself with no real use for its little brother.
I bought a Comgrow engraving laser kit on Amazon( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CDF69ZK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) and remixed a few designs ( Various fan size conversion adapters by TheMeerkat on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:21112 and CR-10S Extruder Support Plate by Baconadors on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4193306 ) to create a dedicated holder for it.
This will be a permanent mount and full conversion to a dedicated laser engraver/cutter. There will not be much cutting power as it is only a 500mW laser. I will also be including a set of connectors to join black Foamboards into an enclosure to contain laser light. Long range plans will include a stopper to keep the z height locked at correct height as well as a safety switch that will cut power to the laser if door is opened. Laser light is nothing to play with, and safety is a top priority with them. Do not look at laser with remaining eye!!!! Eventually I will be creating a custom build of Marlin with the laser in mind.
To use this, remove your original hotend mount and replace it with this one. Reuse the old hardware and retain the old bracket for future use, in case you decide you want to print with it again. I will recommend re-looming your machine with only the wires needed for the laser, to avoid any issues from shorts. Look for more in the future...WIP
