Electra60 - 3D printed modular origami skeletal polyhedron made from 60 modules.
Inspired by David Mitchell's beautiful "Electra 60" origami creation.

I'm still working on the OpenSCAD script to try to make the STLs manifold. Thanks to Laura Taalman (mathgrrl) for help and suggestions on this. It looks as if the tabs are being generated as separate, but intersecting surfaces...
The OpenSCAD script can be used to generate single modules (makebuildplate15 = false;
makebuildplate6 = false; makeassembled = false;), or a build plate with 6 or 15 modules. You can also view an assembled model (makeassembled = false;), but this isn't easy to print :-)
The gap parameters allow you make the joints tight, depending on the size that you print.
The radius parameter controls the size of the finished model, point-to-point it will be just over 3 times this size - so the radius=80mm printed version shown, is ~25cm across.
I've also included STLs for the single modules, build plates and variant, e.g. spherical and with baubles on.
You need to print 60 of the single modules in total; then assembled them using the schematic shown. Basically pentagons are surrounded by squares with triangles filling in the gaps between squares.
