The Autonomous Logistics Platform for All-Moon Cargo Access (ALPACA) was Dynetics' bid for NASA's Human Landing System (HLS) and later Lunar Exploration Transportation Services (LETS) program. ALPACA is a fully reusable single-stage lunar lander. A horizontal cabin, derived from the Pressurized Cargo Module of the Cygnus spacecraft, sits between two sets of propellant tanks, all supported by an external frame structure. Hatches for docking and EVA are located axially on this cabin, notably allowing easy access to the surface with a much shorter ladder than required by the other proposed vehicles. ALPACA would be launched aboard United Launch Alliance's Vulcan rocket (with Centaur V also serving as a propellant tanker to allow reuse of the lander), but it also remains compatible with other launch vehicles such as NASA's Space Launch System. In between missions, it would be serviced at NASA's lunar-orbital Gateway space station The version in this model is the redesigned ALPACA shown towards the end of the HLS/beginning of the LETS program, with full reusability (elimination of drop tanks) and performance enhancements to address failings of the original bid. Unapplied modifiers and instancing have been used to reduce file size and enable easy editing.
