The DTC 1.25" Hinge that I used in my kitchen cabinets opens to 105 degrees which causes some of the doors to hit the wall or cabinets next to it.
This is a redesign of the "Grass TEC 864 85 Degree Hinge Angle Reduction Clip 80125-42" as sold on Amazon here in the United States. The problem I had with the Grass TEC restrictor clips is that they only went 85 degrees while I needed a 90 degree hinge. Some of my cabinets had roll out drawers where the 85 degree hinge restrictor clips sold on Amazon would have caused the slide out drawer to hit the door when open to only 85 degrees.
The hinge I designed is modelled from the Grass TEC design, but opens to 90 degrees instead of 85 degrees allowing me to open the cabinet door without hitting it into the wall or cabinet next to it while still opening sufficient for me to pull out my sliding drawer all the way.
I used PLA filament, but at 100% infill. I felt the pressure of the hinge required such a drastic infill. Even at 100% infill, it uses only 0.34g of filament and the print is only about 4 minutes long because the part is so small.
When installing the restrictor clip, the recommended procedure was to take the door off leaving the hinge attached to the door (not the cabinet), close the hinge and insert the restrictor clip, then reinstall the door. I got lazy and just unscrewed one hinge at a time from the cabinet (leaving it screwed into the door), installed the clip, then reinstalled the hinge -- as shown in the picture. If you take my lazy approach, please be sure to support the door at all times when any one hinge is removed (especially for smaller doors that have only 2 hinges). I take no liability if you break your door or cabinet.
I would be curious if this part works in other DTC hinges or hinges from other manufacturers. Please post your success or failures in the comments section. The part this is modeled from was originally designed for a TEC hinge, so I suspect this may work on TEC hinges as well.
