Double Decker V3 200 is a mini 180/200 class FPV racing quad which is designed for ultimate flight performance on 4" propellers and 2204 motors.
Main features include:
two decks for optimal mass distribution
X shaped motor positions for best balance and handling
motors and VTx protectors
FPV camera 25 degree mount
rigid and reinforced frame parts
lightweight (80 g)
standard size components
Frame's speciality is that it has two decks - in front it's tall enough to cover 32x32 mm FPV camera like Sony PZ0420. Rear part is as flat as possible so that the battery is close to the center of gravity and to the center of thrust for better flight performance.
With this copter and setup below I have flown best time at kart racing spot yet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RN-JIWSBnYY.
Motors are placed in square shaped footprint so that it has better balance and handling in all axes.
VTx and motors are protected by integrated bumpers. The frame also features optional motor protectors. When printed in ABS with 100% infill it's also very rigid and will survive many crashes.
FPV camera plate has fixed angle of 25 degrees for speed flying. Of course, the angle can be finely tuned by placing spacers between the camera and plate.
Total frame weight is about 80 grams (ABS, 100% infill, M2.5 self-tapping screws), AUW with FPV gear and 3s lipo 1000 mAh is about 340 grams. Using 4S and DAL 4045 BN propellers it features incredible power to weight ratio of about 6:1.
My recommended build setup uses standard size components like 2204 motors, CC3D atom flight controller board and full size FPV camera. Rear part includes CC3D atom flight controller (without plastic cover) that is partly embedded to bottom plate. Behind FC is a place for VTX, ideally some flat one like TS5823. There is enough space for placing receiver below the FC and VTX in the lower part of the frame. The frame is also very easy to print.
Recommended setup:
motors: 4x 2204 2300kv
ESCs: 4x Little Bee 20A (or similar size and amps)
flight controller: CC3D Atom
propeller: DAL 4045 BN (or similar, e.g. triblade)
battery: 3S-4S LiPo 850-1300 mAh
FPV camera: Sony PZ0420
video TX: TS5823 200mW
Software:
BLHeli14.1 firmware for ESCs + Damped Light mode + Oneshot125
Cleanflight Luxfloat controller PIDs:
roll/pitch: 2, 0.040, 30
yaw: 6, 0.040, 5
looptime: 1800
Let me know how it flies for you. My intention is to design the best printable 4" FPV racing quad. Thanks and have fun!
