Basically every stronghold was built the same centuries ago, but now most are in disrepair, removed, repaired, boosted up, or have been modified to be bigger for appartments, (like the Saganaki express) Gevenee (GUH -VEN-ee https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Y_Fenni_cheese) is a neutral holding ground. Built centuries ago to withstand dragon attacks, the city consistst of thick inner stone castle defenses perfect for warding off aerieal fire attacks. In the present day, these inner stone castle defenses draw teritorial borders within the major city walls controlled by councils, political mercanary groups, and outright warlords. Located on the next to (the sea/river/largebody of water), the city is a hub for trade and migrant workers. Plauge, war, and famine drew away major trading routes, opening up a thriving market for smuggled goods (such as weapons, slaves, potions, poisens, soldiers, exotic animals). The largest source of economy comes from smuggled goods, and grey markets for buisness that is either outlawed in neihboring lands, or is frowned upon by locals. Before Fate is born, the city hangs on by a thread. Shakey aliances within the city keep the smuggle trade flowing without much policital pressure from outside influence. Four districts govern the Gevennee city. Each district contains a large number of different holds (30-40 yards) so naviating the city is a difficult affair. Many of the holds are in ancient dis-repair after years of neglect. Moving in between districts is a regular affair, but is often dangerous. Some districts have well defined borders with well maintained holds, while others are so in disrepair that geographical markers enforced by strong groups
