Dual MK8 extruder
the hobo (cheap) bondtech extruder
the (patent pending) core of this extruder is the power transmission using the bolt axle who is also used for the lever arm.
Bowden version.
changing one part u go from direct to bowden. u need to properly build , assemble and test the gears
i designed this extruder a year ago.long before i even knew a bondtech gear existed in this material plane. now im publishing it in two versions. direct and bowden
it uses two mk8 hobbed gears, one of them who needs to be put on a drill and sanded (less diamenter, more or less u need to take 0.3-0.4mm of it)
the gears needs to be built using nylon. dont even bother with pla or abs. they are press-fitted.
u will need 3 5x75mm hexagon head bolts.
parts can be done in any material u like. try to avoid tpu or chocolate.
if u wanna use 1.75mm filament, assemble it without the MK8 gears and use a 2mm drill bit where u see fit.
if u wanna use 3mm filament, ... well. u get the point .
printing the nylon gears : IT SUCKS. yeah. try with horizontal expansion settings in cura.
remember to put some grease in .
assembly instructions : https://a360.co/2lF1Nfi
open that link, use your brain. gears may be a PITA
proper BOM will be updated "soon" .
temporary "BOM" :
shitloads of strange ball bearings. this thing is made to last. look at the assembly instructions .
3 - 5x8x2.5
6 - 5x13x4
abs or pla for the chasis
nylon for the gears, 2 big ones, 3 small ones. print shitloads of them and play with %size and horizontal expansion. the small one in the stepper i think needs to be a bit small
mostly m4 bolts.
two 55mm m3 bolts to grab the filament.
