If you are looking for high quality and repeatability in your printing, then a flat, level build plate is essential. It forms the foundation for your part and having a good first layer is critical for successful 3D printing.
Printing on glass is nothing new and is regarded by many as being one of the best surfaces to print on.
I have also included a videos on how to cut your own glass and set up your Bot. Mounting the brackets using the included template is also covered.
I have used inexpensive 2mm picture glass (also known as float glass). Believe it or not 7 glass build plates cost no more then about £10 ($16 US) in glass.... free if you if you recycle an old picture!
I have been printing on them for 2 weeks without issue. Another great advantage for 2X uses is the ability to easily remove the plate and part from the printer for removal.
Give it a try, so what if you break a plate every now and then, they're as cheap as chips when you cut them yourself.
