I designed this kit for 3D printer owners just to avoid the wait time for online orders. This is possible because the only thing to be purchased is available in almost every general merchandise store in the world (nipples). I've successfully fermented 2 jars of pickles over 7days without any mold or yeast formation. Personally I'm looking forward to using these going forward for all of my fermentation needs. While the cost of factory made fermentation products aren't cost prohibitive for one or two jars, it's easy to see where large savings could be realized when fermenting larger quantities. Models for long term storage Lids are available on this site,

Printable items: (large & small mouth)
1 - flat lid
1 - spacer basket
1 – spacer puck

Purchase items:
1 - narrow baby bottle style nipple for premature baby (tiny opening)

There are two cautionary notes.
1. Use only a food safe filament when printing this (preferably clear or natural).
2. Be acutely aware that most common 3D filaments are not dishwasher safe (drying cycle).

General project notes:
1. You'll want these parts to be mostly solid, use 2mm wall thickness with 10% infill.
2. No support or brim is needed.
3. Pull the nipple through the 24mm hole in the flat lid making sure it's fully seated.
