With an STM32 "blue pill" board and a few passive components you can build a 200kHz oscilloscope for under $5 in hardware cost. To run it you need an Android software scope called HScope for around $10 (I bought it in Swedish kronor so I don't know the exact price in $)
Yeah, I only made a 3D print housing for this and put one together for myself, nothing more. But it's damn cool, very small and its crazy bang for the buck! Here's info from the creator's site:

It's a bit tight to get the board and connector into the box, especially soldering the connector and tightening its mounting nut. But I wanted it to be small so... :-)
EDIT:
Added a version that also fits a bluetooth board, chargeable battery and power switch.
