Yet another Direct drive conversion for Ender 3. I'm using E3D V6 hotend with Titan extruder clone.
I liked Cobalt_prime's solution very much ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3784906). It is sturdy, compact and uses whole mount plate with all 4 screws. Center of gravity is inline with rail and since there are no far away masses it should not wobble much. But, it lacks mount for part cooling fan.
I redesigned his design a bit to be able to use stock hotend fan for cooling printed parts. For hotend itself I am using stock fan with mount that came with V6 hotend itself. After all, it is designed to work with this hotend and it does it's job very well.
There are loads of space to do hotend maintenance.
V2 added cable holder on top, cables can be zip tied to holder and lifted fan duct, old one knocked some supports.
V3
I got tired of small 30mm fan squealing so I replaced it with 40x40x20mm fan with 18cfm airflow. Quiet and powerfull.
Moved part cooling on the other side and used 40x40x10 stock HE cooling fan. Still fairly quiet with enough airflow to cool printed parts. It is easily removed to do hotend maintenance.
Both fans are now plugged with some small connectors.
I am using 22mm motor with heat sink!
I had to redrill holes for stock fan.
Print it with ABS, ASA or PETG. PLA will probably loose structural stiffness.
