Henson Hall is Dillard University's former gymnasium and is named for Matthew Alexander Henson, the first person to have reached the North Pole. Built in 1950 and renovated in 1990, since Katrina Henson Hall has housed the University Bookstore. Will W. Alexander Library took up temporary residence in Henson Hall during the library building renovations, 2006-2008. When the Library was able to return to its space in March, 2008, Henson Hall was converted into temporary space for Lawless Assembly Hall and the offices of the Chaplain and VisionQuest during the Lawless renovation. Developed through the DigitalCUrrents summer camp - A collaborative outreach to urban youth by the University of Colorado and Computer Magnet program of Denver Public Schools. This building was modeled by Thomas Buck and Andrea Deseguin members of the Computer Magnet.
