Do you want to modify a design and don't know how. We can help and often work for free, email us to ask. See the contact details on our webpage.
For more of my designs check out my website: https://3domcontact.wixsite.com/3dom
Don't forget if you print something we have shared, to share your story and photos with us in return.
I found using my previous design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3620185) that the cylinder was difficult when I was trying to put the spools back into their storage plastic bags, because it could fall all the way through.
In this version I have resolved that issue by adding a small flange to the bottom of the main body. I now slip the cylinder into the spool core and the flange rests on the top edge. Problem solved.
I now also print it in clear to make monitoring the condition of the colour change desiccant beads much easier.
Intended for 3-5mm dia desiccant - "Blue Indicating Silica Gel" - https://www.silicagel.com.au/1-kg-blue-silica-gel-beads-self-indicating/
This container is designed to be an easy fit in the spool core hole. There are slots all around to provide air contact. I also designed in a core tube into the container to allow more air contact on to the desiccant, this also serves to hold the thread to secure the lid.
With this extra hole (12 mm dia) the container could be mounted with the spool.
No photos of the printed one yet, as I am printing a batch set with will take about 20 hours.
If you'd like to see a smaller version I have already uploaded that - here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3620171
If you'd like the Fusion 360 file I am happy to share it on request.
