This desiccant box is design to fit inside the core of a filament spool. Two sizes are available, both use the same body but different caps, which fit two diameter cores: 55mm (e.g., Amazon Basics) and 73mm (e.g., Sunlu).
The cap stays on the body securely, but adhesive like contact cement or super glue can be applied for good measure.
I fill the box with color-changing silicon gel. I also mix in colorless silicon gel from packets that I collect from various merchandises.
I haven't done it yet, but I plan on drying the desiccant boxes when I'm drying my PETG filaments, at 60C for 3 to 6 hours.
Considering that a desiccant box of this size is selling for $7 to $8, this design can be a good money saver.
