Most Da Vinci's can't print PLA, without the heat creeping up the barrel of the hotend and causing the PLA to melt prematurely and jam.
Adding a heatsink to the top of the block, helps dissipate the heat.
I took an old chipset heatsink form a motherboard, clipped a couple of the fins and drilled a hole in it. I took the heatsink and mounted it on top of the block so that the barrel of the hot end (which can be seen in one of the pics) can protrude through the drilled hole. I put a washer on the barrel and tightened it down with the original nut to keep everything secure Since the mod I have been able to successfully print PLA, PVA and PC-ABS
For better cooling, you can bend the fan bracket as shown in the pictures to help air flow over the heatsinks which are mounted on the side of the block from the factory.
For even Better cooling put thermal paste on the top of the hot end where it contacts the block.
I performed all of the above methods to reduce temps in the shaft of the hotend. So far I have printed for up to 12 hours in PLA with not problems. I have since fell in love with the detail and strength of PLA and do most of my prints in PLA unless heat resistance or longevity is an issue (PLA is biodegradable).
As for the model of Marvin, Thingiverse required I added an STL to post this.
