I really appreciate the Cyclops Tornado as my FC for FPV flying. Easy to handle and comes alonge with quite a few options.
However using it on the Twinstar model isn't so easy due to get the pitot tube in front of the prop to avoid the blast decrease your motor.
So I decided to put the Tornado itselfe, the tube, and the video transmitter in front of the cockpit.
I appreciat AIO solutions.
Only the GPS receiver and current sensor is mounted aside.
I was deeply inspired by
the POD from acefx https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:906046
and
Lightweight Pan and Tilt from marcqv https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2122735
Did some changes on the last one you can see here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2352094
Note:
May someone say the FC has to be located perfectly at the CG. This could be propably right belonging to some FC. Due to my long time experience (more than 100 flights) with the Tornado I confirm it's not relevant.
Recomondations:
After assembling and first flights I can proof that all systems are running quite smooth and propperly. But I had to deal a bit with the center of gravity as long as all the heavy parts are mounted in front.
I was used to place the main battery most possibly towards the back with in the main storridge. Also I use a seccond battery 1000mAh/3S to power the Tornado externaly which sits far in the tail and helps leveling the CG much
So, please be aware of measuring the CG properly in front of your first flight! It's between 7,5 to 8,5 cm from wing edge.
Nose heavy flies bad - tail heavy flies once ;-)
